This is Gundog Estate’s first release of Sparkling Shiraz. As a wine style, Sparkling Shiraz is uniquely Australian, and offers an amazingly different way to enjoy this classic grape variety. Our wine is produced from Shiraz grown on old vines in the Will’s Hill and Somerset vineyards in the heart of the Hunter Valley. We fermented the wine in open tanks, before pressing off to top quality French oak barrels for 12 months maturation. The wine then underwent a second fermentation in a pressurized tank, prior to bottling. The 2014 Sparkling Shiraz may be enjoyed now, or after 5 years in the cellar. Serve well chilled.
